1. Who we are

Salty Doors Pty Limited, trading as by carmont (ABN 63 641 814 084) (by carmont), is the supplier of the products sold on bycarmont.com.au and at our Sydney showroom. 18 Carrington Road, Randwick NSW 2031 hello@bycarmont.com In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" means by carmont. "You" and "your" means you, our customer or website visitor. By browsing this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms, along with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns Policy.

2. About our products

Our products are handwoven from polypropylene, a durable synthetic fibre known for its stain resistance and low maintenance. Because our products are handwoven, please note:

  • Slight variation in colour, texture, weave and finish is normal between individual pieces and between production runs
  • Sizes are subject to a tolerance of up to 3%
  • Colour may vary between screens and devices, and product images are a guide rather than an exact representation
  • Rugs may arrive folded or rolled and can take time to flatten. Creases and curling usually settle within a few days to a few weeks
  • As with many materials, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause subtle colour variation over time, and darker colours may experience some slight fading, while natural colours may change very subtly – this does not affect the overall quality, integrity and performance of the rugs

We do our best to describe and photograph our products accurately, but we do not warrant that descriptions or other content on this site are complete, current or error free. If you need clarification on any product, contact us before ordering.

3. Pricing

All prices are in Australian Dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. Prices are correct at the time of publishing. Errors, omissions and currency movement can occur, so we reserve the right to correct pricing, change pricing without notice, and withdraw any product from sale. If we discover a pricing error after you have placed an order, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the option to proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

6. Delivery, risk and title

Risk in the products passes to you on delivery to the address you nominate at checkout. If you arrange your own carrier, or collect the products yourself, risk passes to you at the point of collection by the carrier or you (as the case may be). Title in the products remains with us until payment has been received in full. You are responsible for checking the number of cartons or rolls received on delivery. If anything appears damaged, note it on the delivery docket before signing and contact us straight away. Delivery timeframes, tracking and courier details are set out in our Shipping Policy.

7. Delivery access

Rugs are large and heavy items. Before placing an order, please make sure that:

  • The product will fit into your lift, or can be carried up the stairs to your property
  • Any lift booking required by your building has been made
  • Any loading dock booking required has been made
  • Someone will be available to receive the delivery

If a delivery cannot be completed because of the nature of the premises, insufficient access, incorrect access details, or because no one is available to receive it, you will be responsible for any additional freight costs we incur on redelivery or return.

8. Using your own carrier

We take care to pack our products to a high standard. If you collect your order yourself, or arrange your own carrier, you are responsible for inspecting the products at the point of collection and noting any issues on the delivery receipt at that time.

If damage occurs in transit with a carrier you have arranged, you will need to resolve the claim directly with that carrier. We are not able to assess or credit transit damage on shipments we did not arrange.

9. Returns

Our Returns Policy covers change of mind. Products must be unused and in their original condition and packaging. Full details, including the return window and the process, are set out in our Returns Policy. Returns and warranty are separate. The warranty in section 12 covers manufacturing faults and applies whether or not the returns window is still open.

10. Samples, ex-display and final sale items

Samples are supplied to help you assess colour and texture. Colour, pile and finish may vary slightly between a sample and a full-size product. Samples are non-refundable and are not covered by our warranty. Ex-display and showroom stock is sold as is. These products may show signs of handling, light wear or minor imperfections. Ex-display stock is not covered by our warranty, and product images are a guide only. Care information for each product is published in our Care Guide at bycarmont.com.au/pages/care-guide, and is supplied with your order.

Following this guidance is a condition of our warranty. Where damage has been caused by cleaning, care or placement outside that guidance, it is not a manufacturing fault and is not covered.
